STUDENT JAILED FOR N40,000 THEFT


24 year old Aliyu Musa has been sentenced to six months in prison for allegedly stealing N40,000 with a stolen ATM card.
Musa was taken to Grade 1 Area Court in Duste Abuja, Suleiman Mohammed the
presiding officer found Musa guilty of stealing and gave him option to pay the sum of N30,000 as fine.
Musa however pleaded guilty Mohammed held that the convict failed to give the court a reasonable explanation why he committed the crime. Musa who resides in Ushafa area of Bwari was convicted of joint act and theft.
Mohammed ordered that the money found and seized from the convict be returned to it's rightful owner.
The prosecutor Tunde Arowolo made known in court that Musa was reported by Mr Emmanuel Anyade a businessman in Ushafa village on December 14 at Bwari police station
Tunde continued :
 he said that the convict went to Mr Emmanuel's shop where he used Point of Sell for transaction and withdrew N40,000 from one Amadi Ogechi First bank account. 
He said, the convict also returned to the shop to withdraw another N20,000 from the same account when the owner of the shop asked him to produce an identity card that corresponded  with the account he failed to the police was called upon him. 
The prosecutor added that during police investigation, the convict also confessed to the crime but said that he was sent by one Musa Maiwake presently at large to withdraw the money and take it to him at Maraba in Nasarawa State.
