MARYAM SANDA SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING HER HUSBAND

November 19,2017, one Maryam Sanda stabbed her husband to death after seeing text message on his phone.

A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja found Maryam guilty for stabbing her husband Bilyaminu Bello to death.

Justice Yusuf Haliu made the declaration while delivering  judgement on the protracted trial of Missus Sanda on Monday in the nation's capital.


Sanda was thereby sentenced to death by hanging. Sanda's husband Bilyaminu Bello is the son of former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).

Justice Yusuf dismissed Sanda's statement that her husband fell on a broken Shisha pot during a fight on that day. He said evidence proved that the accused stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife with intent to kill.

Sanda attempted to run out of the court room, her relatives started creating scene in other to draw people's  sympathy towards them. Justice Yusuf called for a short break to calm the drama before passing his judgment.
