'We did not agree to suspend strike— ASUU


 The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has reveal that there is no agreement to suspend the ongoing 8 months strike. 

The Federal Government met with the Union at the Conference hall of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and they agreed to pay N40 billion for earned allowances and N30billion for the revitalization of the University system. 

According to report gathered, the FG also agreed to pay the salary arrears of the aggrieved lecturers before December 31.

Reports have been going round that the Union has accepted to call of the strike after meeting with the FG, while speaking with vanguard, Biodun Ogunyemi, President of ASUU debunked the news

He stated: 

” I am not aware of that. All I know is that we had a meeting and we are going to report to our members. But I don’t know about suspension of strike.”
